Our first out and out instrumental track for about 5 years. Glenn had this (then untitled) tune lying around unused for a number of years. It never found a place on our last few albums because we deliberately avoided the temptation to record another instrumental but now seemed the right time to give it a go. 'Think Positive!' seemed to be crying out for an instrumental track if only to add a touch of light relief anyway and we had always hoped the opportunity would eventually arise to use this pleasant and harmless little waltz. We struggled for a title until the eleventh hour when the C.D. was otherwise ready to go to press. As we were feeling very positive at the time about our efforts in the recording studio and were also trying to create a really positive vibe about the band this year (hence the album title), the title 'Positive Steps' just seemed to pick itself from a choice of about 40 possible names we had jotted down on a list, beating Hugh's spontaneous inspired suggestion and first choice of 'Blue Cheese Waltz', amongst others. So now you know!
