lyrics

WHICH SIDE OF BEDLAM?

Sometimes I feel like I'm tearing out my hair
Sometimes I'm not sure who's hair I wear
Sometimes I feel like I'm going insane
But on which side of bedlam do I belong

Who am I? I don't know can't you tell
Sometimes I'm the soul with a heart as black as coal
Sometimes I fade into a grey masquerade
And sometimes I'm as clear as the stars

I've never fallen into the role of Bonaparte
But sometimes my bones feel like they are falling apart
I'll marshal my troops around the battlefield
At the battle of bedlam lambs are slaughtered in bed

Thunder rolled and lightning cracked as the rains came lashing down
A cacophony of laughter brings sweet music to this room
To frighten away all the Jekylls and the Hydes
But which side of bedlam am I on tonight

Two minds are locked in a battle over me
But I'm straining at my chains in an effort to break free
The Lord is my shepherd he gives me wings to fly
As I steal into the freedom of his skies

Now the thickest walls are breached and the dark towers pulled down
A fresh defence defies the dark shadows tonight
And keeps at bay the monsters that haunt me deep inside
And all the fierce wolves howling outside

I've never fallen into the role of Bonaparte
But sometimes my bones feel like they are falling apart
I'll marshal my troops around the battlefield
At the battle of bedlam lambs are slaughtered in bed
